Default Q on standards...

here is my question.....
ive never had a quad before, but ive been on some before. all of the ones that i have driven were automatics. im getting my first quad in may-june and its probably going to be a vinson 500. i was just wondering if there was some indicator to tell you that you need to shift if you get a standard. one of my friends told me "you will just know, i can hear a difference and after you get used to it you will know" but that didnt help me understand... i know it has an automatic clutch, but i was just wondering if there is a certain thing you have to listen for...thanks

Yeah your friends kinda right when they "you'll just know". What they mean is that you got to listen to your engine/motor for how high it is revving. Usually the faster it is revving the louder it gets. Once you get the hang of it, it'll be like riding a bike....... meaning you won't forget how to, understand? If not just tell us what you don't understand or what part of it you don't understand.
later,
Superstar
