Does the liquid cooling play a big role in this? Does the EX have a problem of overheating because it is not liquid cooled? Well since it is going to be a long time till I buy another one maybe the liquid cooling would be a good idea for the long haul.

Any thoughts?

You would want to put on a full pipe, K&N Filter maybe rejet it...

 

Try searching around for other dealers, you may have to drive 30+ miles to get a deal, but its worth it. Dont take the first offer the dealership puts on you either. I got my 03 raptor back in last april for 6100 otd. Thats 400 under msrp, not including the money i saved on tax, title, and all the rest. I got 3.9% financing too. Look around, you are going to find a better deal elsewhere.

Called around and the best I could come up with was around $5500 OTD, every one else was $6k and above. Does this sound reasonable or is this still pretty high? What have you guys been seeing? Any one recommend a place near Pittsburgh, PA?

 

I had my polaris for 3 years and didnt have one problem. The 400 can be made a beat wtih just a pipe, but they dont offer it in 4wd anymore. The 500 is plenty fast, and you can go anywhere the 4x's go.
Depending on the terrain you ride, you probably can go most everywhere they go. But where I ride, a guy tried an ex, and made it about 300yrds and had to go back. If you dont have 4wd out here, you cant go anywhere.
My idiot friend tried to take his dirtbike out, slid into a big ditch in the middle of the hill, it took 4 guys to get just a dirtbike out.
The first time you get stuck, you'll wish you had 4wd.

 

What are your thoughts about the KFX700? Looks like a killer quad. How do you think it compares to a Z/KFX 400?

 

the 400 ex is the bomb!!! if you pump the 400 up it will compete with most quads! the 440 kit is my next move if i can afford it. sounds like techtip is a loser and doesnt know what he is talking about. I have raced this guy a couple times at the dunes and man he cant race! if he loses he is a big baby! but when he wins he will brag about for days. i raced him up comp hill many times and i would let off a bit so it would be a close race!
