Default frame guards

like every atv i've ever owned, my boots have always mangaged to beat the frame down to the bare metal which later results in surface rust (AKA ugly!!!) anyways i've now got a z400 and i saw that some companys make frame guards that are just for preventing this or covering up what is already there...are these things any good whoever has one? also does the brushed aluminum get scratched and beat up too?

The brushed aluminum will get beat and dull after a while, but it won't be as noticeable as scraped off paint. Also, with aluminum, you can just wet sand it to make it look brushed again or you could even polish it. Plus, if the guards get really messed up, you can just replace them instead of having a rusty frame.
