Default Eiger vs. Outlander

I know the Outlander has a higher top end speed, but how about acceleration and is there that much of a difference.

Acceleration would go to the Outlander as well. See if you can arrange a test ride at your local dealership. Outlander-3yr warranty Eiger-6mos warranty.

Well if you want a Quad for speed get a sport Quad, i think 53-55mph on a Utility is good enough they aint made for speed.

eigerman, you may have read this elsewhere, think I posted it in another thread...When I test rode the outlander4oo, on a sandy lane with some small washout holes I saw mid 40's top end. You may be able to squeak another 1 or 2 out on a flat hard road, maybe 1 or 2 when the engine loosens up a bit, but I doubt you're going to see more than 50mph (real). Most likely the speedo is generous by a bit, too. Overall nice bike, though. Just in case you didn't see that thread, it's here: http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/335714.cfm

Gt2; My Outlander easily ran up to 55mph on the speedo, not sure how accurate it is & don't really care. I also know that there was more speed left but didn't want to wined her out as it still new. I also read some posts on poor gas mileage, to tune of 50 miles per tank. I filled mine & I'm now at 40 miles with 1/2 tank left, & spent 3 hrs yesterday skidding firewood???

sxr, glad you're having good experiences with your outlander. Sounds like you got a runner. You probably need one with that dog of a sled, hey? Just kiddin! I wouldn't expect stellar fuel economy out of a high performing engine. It takes fuel to make power in all but the most efficient engine designs. I don't think a one lunger qualifies as a real efficient engine design, although it obviously works for quads. I was told to expect about 100 miles to a tank on the vinson. No experience yet, though, may take delivery tomorrow or saturday.

Default Eiger vs. Outlander

Hey, thanx everybody for your opinion. I have decided that i dont want an Outlander for many different reasons but now im trying to decide between a Vinson and an Eiger. There are only a few things that are stopping me from definately getting the Vinson instead of the Eiger:

1. Price (4999 i know thats an amazing price for the 5 speed vinson though) compared to 4353 for the eiger 5spd 4x4

2. Problems= On other posts ive heard of bent axles coming from the factory, tranny problems, etc.

3. More things to break, liquid cooled vs air cooled

I had a 99 Quadrunner 4x4 that had 3500 miles on it and never had a problem with the Liquid Cooled engine, although the eiger is Oil Cooled and Air Cooled.

Eigerman17 - I'd just take a look at how you ride and who you ride with. Obviously, the Vinson is more bike than the Eiger - beating it everywhere except gas milage. Looks like your only question is if it's worth the extra $650.

As an aside - Where are you finding those great Suzuki prices????? Are those the final price without tax or is there some extra dealer prep/ delivery dollars added on to what you have quoted here? that's got to be the best prices I've ever seen for either of those two bikes.

Good luck with your decision - either one is a winner.

Jaybee
