I am looking to buy a new atv and I was planning on getting the Eiger 400 4x4 but im wondering about the Bombardier Outlander and if anybody out there knows how it compares to the Eiger. I know the Eiger beat it int he ATV TV comparison test but the outlander won atv of the year. Any input on the subject would be very helpful ,thanx.

 

The Eiger won because it was a close second in every category, but beat the Outlander in price.

 

In my opinion the Eiger will also be more reliable. Im sure the Outlander is a nice machine but I would truly get the Eiger, not just because I have one but Suzuki is a more trusted brand and has been making them quite a while now. Also i know this might not matter but how can you stand the looks of a Bombardier they are the most ugliest ATVS made. The Eiger looks Awesome with its Ram Air Looking Front End haha.

 

I agree, the Outlander is the ugliest ATV ever made. lol

 

Oh Come-on.....the Outlander is NOT the ugliest quad in the land.


The Rally is. The Outlander is merely the second most ugly quad.
On the plus side, anyone with a Lego set can make a model of one.

Bombardier also makes Sea-Doo and Ski-Doo and they use the same rotax engines as they do in their quads plus you get a 3 yr warranty with it (not a six month as with any japanese model). Obviously they stand behind their product! While I agree its not the best looking quad it does resemble the style of the new Avalanche which is selling very well so there must be a market for it. I wouldnt worry about reliability on either quad just ask for a test ride and see which one is best for you![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Heres another take you might want to consider, Eiger won the shotout based on price? The Outlander out performed it in every catagory, ride, handling, hillclimbing, ground clearance, best auto, best suspension, quickest, fastest, best brakes. Now add to that they said it had power comparible to mid class 500's. You could easily say it would win a 500 class comparision based on 500 class price.

 

I know that most people don't like the look of the new Bombardier Outlanders but I think they look like a tank. That is just my opinion. The Outlander 400 is supposed to be as fast as a SP500 HO, if they are they obviously haul @ss. I think the Eiger looks too boxy.
