Yeah dude please do that'd be great. I saw an article in Sand Sports on a '86 250R that had a Candy Blue frame, and that's what I want to do also. Really nice color. Mine came with the 45 Mikuni Flatside (is that what it's called? I donno, it's not a round top) so I'm not sure if it really increased performance or not, since I haven't really ridden one that has a stock carb. What pipe/silencer combo are you using? I was thinking of Paul Turner, or CT. LRD makes the most HP but they stopped making the pipe last year, go figure. Keep us posted on your project.

Hey speaking of carbs, is there anybody on here running a Keihin carb on their LT500? I am trying to figure out how much jetting I need on mine. Right now I am running a 55 pilot jet, 170 mainjet and the needle is all the way up and when you do the choke test at full throttle it is still on the lean side... OH it is a 39mm Keihin Air Stryker.

My engine has a .140 overbore, CT ported cylinder, Paul Turner pipe and FMF silencer...

I'm running a 41.5mm PWK on mine... although my jet sizes are pretty close to yours, I'm willing to bet your air density #'s are quite a bit different than mine (I'm up at close to 7,000 ft above sea level) I'm running a 60 pilot and a 185 main...
I'm a little concerned about your jetting method... While I understand if you're lean, you can use the choke for WFO runs... It would be best to get it closer via the main/needle/pilot. Ever done a plug chop? (Run wide open, and hit the kill switch.. pull the plug and read the color?)

Ideally, when jetted correctly... the circlip on the needle would be pretty close to centered.

Oh, by the way... I ABSOLUTELY loved your website, and photo's of you and your toy's!! Sure would like to come and play with you in the dirt!!!!
Keep up the good work! and HAVE FUN!!

Well as soon as I get mine running again I willl have to try that method (plug chop)... I blew the base gasket out of mine yesterday on the trails... Had to make an "emergency" run to the parts house to get a new gasket kit so I can get it up and running for this weekend again.......

The carb was one I had set up for my 250R Honda and it actually runs better than the one that was on it... It is still running lean though...

Thanks for the complement on my website - glad you liked it..

If you think you are lean, pull your choke on a WOT and if it revs you need more fuel if it stumbles you are close.
