Sprockets made a BIG difference. We ride sand most of the time and I don't need top end speed so its about perfect. It will still outrun a piped & jetted Banshee in 100 yards so I'm happy.

Zillarider02's 87 has the Keihin carb, 60 pilot, 180 main, 3 clip from the top @ 900 ft altitude. The 180 is a little rich for safety sake.. This is with 40:1 premix. His carb is a 39 bored to 41.5
I run 62 pilot, 175 main, 2 clip from the top on the 89 Zilla. Both motors are ported quite extensively. My carb is a 41 pro series.

Oh, I might add there are 5 Zilla's in our riding group now.......
Cool! I have bumped it up to a 180 mainjet and it seems like it is running better, but it doesn't seem like it is totally right on the bottom end so I think now I get to fool with the pilot jet.. Thanks for all the great info!

OH BTW when I was in town Monday getting my tags renewed on my vehicles there was a guy getting an ORV sticker for his Quadzilla. He had it in the back of his truck... He said he had just bought it - it looked pretty ragged to me but it was cool to see another local have one... now there are 3 of us in this area, but I am the only one foolish enough to try to ride mine in the woods. One of the guys who has just started riding with me has one but when we all go riding on the weekends he always brings his 250R Honda.

Well I guess I better get on the phone and call Tudor's.. I blew another base gasket Friday blew the front out of this one.. Had to make another one so I could go riding Sunday. I am getting good at redoing the topend... Took 1.5 hours to replace the gasket.

That's one thing you'll be a great Zuk mechanic after you own one for a year or so.... HA!

Yep, try that spring steel base gasket... you'll like it. Mines been trouble free for over a year now.
How do the mating surfaces look? Sometimes the factory did a poor job of lapping the cases before assembly.

Got any new pics lately? I could use a good dose of therapy... and they really fit the Rx.

the cases and the cylinder have all been machined. I don't have a problem with them blowing out until I am running some pretty high RPMs

I am getting good at tearing it down and reassembling it. Took 1.5 hours last time and that was teardown, making the new gasket, and reassembling it. I even had to remove the footpeg (which is a PITA on mine because it is stripped out and has a nut on the back side that is really hard to get to without dropping the skidplate) and side case because the rod came off of the powervalve and fell down in the motor. After I got it out and made the gasket I put it all back together and was test riding it an hour and a half later.

Tudor's was out of those gaskets the other week so I used a Cometic just to get it back together faster. This time I made one out of copper sheeting and gasket adhesive it would have worked great, but the sheet was a little too thin and it still leaks a little bit. It is still holding up though... I think it will work until I get one from them. then I will pop that gasket in and fix it up right.
