When I was taking my Z400 into Sand Tech Racing here in Vegas to get it fixed, they had the Gas Gas Wild HP450 just sitting outside their shop. They owner said that it was the first on the west coast and they did a ride review on it for Dirt Wheels. It put out 49 horsepower stock on their dyno, and the 300 2 stroke put out 52. It looks nice and is very wide. Just thought I'd let you know

Wow, I didnt know when they would be shipping, but now I do. Keep us updated if anyone buys it. I'm sure were all very curious to see how it performs in the real world. Didnt they put EFI on that?

Actually a man that had come by the shop about a week ago is buying it as soon as they finish testing it for Dirt Wheels. I asked how much he paid for it and the owner said $9700!!!! Thats a little above my range! To me it looked a lot like the 2 stroke except of course the pipe.

Why does the 300 put out more HP that the 450? Both are 2 smokes.

The HP 300 is a 2-stroke. the HP 450 is a fuel injected 4-stroke with both electric and kick start. I've been investigating them ever since I saw one in person at the seattle motorcycle show in december.... I plan to get a 300 in the not too distant future.

No it's not the first HP 450 on the west coast. I test rode a HP 450 at Skagit Powersports in Burlington, WA about 2 months ago.

I have a link on a better deal on these, both 2-stroke & 4-stroke if anyone is interested...

Do you mean he is paying $9700 for the same machine Dirt Wheels will beat on?

dual-sporter- You might be right that it's not the first on the west coast, thats just what the guy told me.

garyc660R-yes he is buying the one that dirt wheels is testing. I guess the story is that when the quad first arrived, a customer came in and saw it, and siad he had to have it. So the owner and him worked out a deal and agreed that he would buy it as soon as the testing was done.

I'd sure like to find out more about the 300! It's about damn time someone produced a 2-Stroke!
Sounds like the HP #'s are impressive! Not too sure about electric start though!!??!!?? Don't need it!
