Z400 cons???
My brother in law has a Z400 and it cracked the frame over the front shock mounts. It's totally seperated Dirt Wheels has a big write up this month on the frame issues of the z400 they said it's a great quad but the frame needs serious help. My brother in law has the extended warrenty and they are still giving him a hard time about replacing the frame so he brought in the magazine and they are a little more receptive. Suzuki lowered the price on the frame from $1700 to $700 to keep customers happy since there a so many problems and they are redesigning the frame for next year. If you have a z400 now and it does'nt have cracks yet have your frame gusseted in the recommended spots it will cost about $600 but it will saze you money and aggrevation later.

Z400 cons???

You miss understood my post or I did a bad job making my point. From the riding "I" did i liked the handling and manueverability of the z400. I just never got comfortable on the predator (probably didnt ride it enough) and the handling was to specific. I do believe it handled VERY nice and it definitely had power...good power...dealer wouldnt let me take it hard enough to test the shifting at full throttle problem. However, right off the bat I felt comfortable enough with the Z400 to launch it of jumps ... it flew true with control... landed great ... could wheelie over drop offs and hills with eaz...Z really is a nice handling, manauverable quad (different dealer then with the pol). I have a couple of friends that gave up on the pred and a couple that stuck with it. They say the handling is very responsive and takes getting used to...but once used to it you really like it ...the ones that stuck with them have told me at first they were not overly fond of the preds handling...now they dont believe they can live without it...they all hate the ergo and how you sit on the quad tho. I actually believe both quads are very good and pending your riding style will determine which one you view better. I am not a polaris fan at all...i believe they are heavy and high maintenance...but must say that they come to the fight well equiped with the predator. If the predator is a sign of the committment polaris is going to make with their atvs then things are really going to heat up...wheres honda.

Z400 cons???
Yeah they DO handle better I think. They are smaller and a lot more nimble in the woods. They also have a lot tighter suspension on them. Just remember though, before you say anything about me being messed up in the head, my 300EX has +2 a-arms, Works shocks, Pep steering stabilizer, Lonestar bearing carrier, and the bushings and bearings in the suspension are not all worn out either..

Z400 cons???
Well...leeme add 2 more cents to this dicussion. Ive already replace my rear axle...cause it was bent. I need to replace my rear rotor..that got bent cause the stock skid plate is a joke. Ive replaced the rear (joke) skid plate cause it broke...i had to put on a steering stablizer cause the front end wanders around at high speed...and now ive jus noteced my frame IS crackin on the front shock mounts. Ive owned a blaster since 87...and havent had to replace a damm thing on that quad except for one piston in 16 yrs. Would i buy a Z if i knew what i know now??? Im thinkn not. I still like the way it rides...but im not like'n the duarability one bit.
