Default Can anyone help with a Power Valve adjustment??

This could be a shot in the dark but I would like to know if anyone has any information on adjusting the Powervalve on a Suzuki RM125??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a 1196, I had to replace it and now it dont have any power on take off.

The 96 rm 125 was a very good year. If you have the manual it will take you step by step. When you put the cap over the tension spring you have to turn the cap one full turn. If you have any more problems I can probably find some instructions to send you. It's very hard to explain this way. Good luck.

OK, THANK YOU. I just got this bike and had to replace some parts on it and took the power valve out and now someone was telling me it needed to be adjusted and dont have a manual on it at all. Thanks again.

Thank you, Now someone tolld me the powervalve is open at idle and when you punch it it closes? Is that right?

Just the opposite. As rev's increase power valve opens. Opens up porting so to speak! A stock 96 rm125 had a smooth but wide powerband. With porting , head mod's, bored carb and pipe it was a great 125. IMO. In fact our's was the best overall 125 we ever raced. The reason for the power valve is to give more low end power and as rpm's increase the power valve opens for good top end. The best of both worlds soo to speak! Good luck! Hope I helped.
