Hey all,
I was thinking........ I will be getting a atv soon and what I want is a semi sport quad. (I have good riding experiance just no money) and where I live its really muddy on the trails... Not so bad where you need fourwheel drive but bad enough to give my toys allittle trouble (Look at my list,) I want something that can jump as well as go through mud.
I like the 250 because its shaft but Im not sure about the suspension (im 5'9 170) and I like the lakota for its engine size but not sure about the chain drive and the weight
what are some of your opinions....??Both are in my price

I would wait for the Z-250. It sound like you are the exact target market that Zuk was going for with the Z-250. If you can't wait the next best thing would be the Honda 250ex. The Honda has been a huge rental bike because it is so reliable and fun. I would wait for the Z though!!!!

 

I agree wait for the Z. It is going to be a great quad. I have an Ozark and it has a very strong motor for a 250 and if the Z 250 has the same motor with 30% more power its going to be awesome. It should be quick maybe even quicker than the Lakota and it looks pretty sweet to. Just something to think about. Good Luck

 

I really like my Lakota. The Z sound great but I would wait till the 2nd year they are in production (they usually fix all the problems by then).

 

I would wait and at least test ride the Z-250 first. I have ridden a couple of Lakotas and they are very capable quads. I have been waiting for the Z-250 too for my 12 year old son. It's between the 250ex and the Z-250 right now for me. But now that you bring it up, maybe I should let him try a Lakota out too. HMMM. Decisions,decisions......

 

Hey your tellin me............There are many quads out there all with their strong points, Its just a matter of finding the quad that is Ideal for (a person)........There are about 4 that im looking at...but Im gonna look at the Z.
Any body have one at their dealer yet?.........Im interested in if its bigger than the 250ex

Just remember the Z-250 is the little brother to one sweet quad. If Zuk put half the R&D into the Z250 it did the Z400 you can't loose. That's right the first on four wheels is back.

 

Yeah, I'm waiting for the Z-250 to hit my local dealer too! I'm sure I'll get a phone call from the salesman who sold me the last 2 quads I bought when the Z-250 hits the floor. They already have a couple of 250exs on the grounds for comparison. I'll see if they have any Lakotas too. Sounds like Christmas morning for us again! I hope they will let my son test ride them, maybe if we sneak around back to test ride they will! From what I've read, the Z-250 will be close to the 250ex in size and weight.

 

The z250 is the same exact quad as an ozark,the same susp. travel,less ground clearance.the reason
it's quicker than the ozark is the rear wheel size,20 in. vs 22 in. on the ozark.My wife had an ozark and
wanted a z250,until she rode a lakota.With way more power, 3 in. more susp. travel and the ability to
change gearing it was a no brainer! lakota wins hands down.

Its not the exact same they did some changes to the motor too to give it more power. I would definantly wait for the Z its going to be awesome!
