I have a buddy who pulled his head off on his Z. He has carbon build up on one intake and one exhaust, the other two are SPOTLESS. When stock all four shims were the same size. Now with the cams in he has different sizes in, and all are not the same. Maybe the clearance was out of spec from the factory.?. Has anybody else seen their head? Is this a cold spot in the design from Suzuki? Anybody want to take a guess why this happened?

 

Did your friend have the valve clearance checked during the first maintenance check that should have been done by Suzuki? If not that could be the problem!

 

I am not positive on that. I think he had cams in it before that, but I am not sure. I will ask though, thanks.
