thinking about purchasing a lt250
#1
i currently own a wariror and i am wondering about an lt250. I basically want more power which is why i really want a two stroke. I am interested in the banshee too. how do the lt warrior and banshee compare in speed and handling. Also what problems have you had with your 250's? thanks

You can't go wrong with a 2-stroke... however preventive maintenance is much more important when you own one.. (Keeping the oil changed in the gearbox, and keeping the air filter clean... properly mixing the fuel, etc.)
I'd recommend riding one of each before you make your decision... there are vast differences b/w a 250 and a banshee.

HE'S RIGHT RIDE ALL THREE AND YOU'LL WALK AWAY AND YOU WON'T WANT THE WARRIOR. ITS GONNA BE EITHER THE LT OR THE BANSHEE. DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR DOING. TRAIL RIDING YOU WOULD WANT THE LT . DRAG RACING YOU WILL WANT THE BANSHEE. ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT RIDING STYLE YOU PREFER.

2-strokes are the best you should know that im sure 200 cc blasters eat your warrior for breakfast, kinda sad huh. Heres my advice though. A banshee is very fun but is recommended for experienced riders.( Yamaha even says this)Why is it recommended for experienced riders you ask ? The handling characteristics leave alot to be desired, and the power band can be fun yet challenging. I wasnt a very experinced rider when i got my banshee, and didnt really have any problems, however i was alot better on my frinds 250r than on my own bike. A 250 has a great weight balance which is great for winding trails and jumping, the banshee is quite nose heavy. Remember if you buy a banshhe you need to buy 2 of everything when you upgrade (2 carbs, pipes, filters, silencers, and 2 pistons and cylinder bores if you blow a motor, and stock banshees need crank welded if you do any hp increases. You Get the point) I got my lt250 for 1800 and put about 3000 in mods and aluminum to make it light. A banshee weighs in near 390 lbs, my bike weighs about 285. I dont need an extra 100 cc if i got 100 less pounds to pull around. Be wary of used banshees most when they are sold are need of alot of work, cuz of the abuse they take. Stock compression is about 130 if i remeber correctly. IF its only a couple years old but dont buy if comp. is low , chances are its been riden hard.
