400ex vs lt250

Default 400ex vs lt250

lt250krf I will never own a polaris.

I'am only getting the 400ex because that's the only thing that I can afford right know. In a few mounth or so, I will be getting a kfx700. Then I will definitely smoke my brother or lt250rider.

Hey idiot, It TAKES a 400 4 stroke to compete with a 250 2 stroke. 2 strokes make far more power per cc.

(let alone a 2 stroke, what are you talkin 'bout)

Hey V700 rider, dont let these guys fool you man, the 400EX is a great bike.
Its slightly underpowered compaired to the Z400... who cares?

Yeah, Mr.350X is right the 400EX is still competitive with the right mods and rider.

I was at moses lake and was racing some guys and a lt250r (fmf pipe/silencer K&N and jetted) lined up with just me. The race was about 150 yards and I killed him. Then he told me to go get my 2 friends with stock 400ex's thinking he could smoke them... well to make a long story short he barely won, maybe 1 - 2 bike lengths. Not tryin to start anything, just replying on the power part of your question. Also could have been the rider.

Or maybe it was the bike. I have a Raptor and LT250r and they're kissin' close in a drag race. Shady

I know what you mean Shady, but look at his sig. hes got his piped, jetted and geared. I'm guessing yours is stock.

ya shady your is stock im guessing? if so then it would have been a close race between a lt and you.

Ive got an 86 LT250 with a mild port job, fmf pipe, K&n filter and a 35mm pwk Keihin, and at Glamis a couple weeks ago I was constantly beating piped Z400s and 400ex's and hanging with Raptors at Olds Hill. I havnt been able to Drag on the flats so I have no input there. Also back to the original question about a 400ex vs a LT250. Relize that The 400ex is, on avarage, about $2500 more that the Suzuki, and you can put a lot of mods on a Suzuki for $2500. But The 400ex is a great all around quad. IF you dont care about Winning the races and you want a quad that will reliably start and run, get the 400ex(or Z400 since it has reverse and is faster). Although my Lt250 starts and runs relibly, but you get my point.

the 400ex has better low end power stock for stock then a Z400...but the mid and top owns the 400ex

I know i feel the need for more Low on my Z now..........

the 400ex is an AWESOME bike, its a Honda, it will run forever with proper care of course! I love the 400ex, the only reason i ended up with the Z400 is because i got a killer deal of 5 grand out the door!

The 400ex is a great all around bike, you can do anything you want on it..

The LT250R works the heck out of you on trails. So much wheel spin hill climbing. I like both biks, but i'm a little more of a 4-stroke guy i guess. I love the blast of a 2-stroke power band tho!

does anyone really think that the 400ex has more low end torque than the z400?...personally i have a stock z400 and i cannot keep my front wheels on the ground..when i line up against my friends 400ex ( fmf slip-on and uni filter..with a one tooth lower sprocket...i have no take off cuz i wheelie...1st gear and second gear on a z pull up so easy...in my opinion the 400ex has less torque than the z400.

second of all you guys in here are talking about 2 strokes and 4 stokes...which has more Ba!!s....blah blah blah....both are nice and run strong...does anyone know any 2 stroke that isn;t 6 gears....4 strokes have 5....wait a minute..??? that isn;t comparing apples to apples...its more like apples and pears... isn;t that funny...now picture a 4 stroke with 6 gears....i think that the 4 stroke with 6 gears would make a lot of difference in top end ... does anyone think that the 4 stroke would eat up a 2 stroke in a drag if there was a 6th gear on the 4 strokes? just something for you guys to think about..

one question way off the topic...does anyone know if extended A-Arms from a 250R will fit on the Z400?.
