hold the swing arm real high... as if the sock was compressed...and try tapping it out... beat it with all the mite u have....while u are beating itt with the screw driver have someone else move the whole swingarm up and down and it SHOULD budge... if not..try home wd-40... if not.... start praying a miracle will happen

hey tick , if all the other stuff is out of your way , take a propane torch or a oxy torch and heat up the front swing arm tube a bit and then try tapping (or a sledge hehehehe ) it out . dont put to much heat in the tube though . might help loosen it up enough to get it to go .

hey there i just went through this on my 88 racer and just last night we did my buddys 86 racer.his was stuck like a sob. first thing you do is go buy a dozen sawzall blades and just cut the thing out. be carefull not to cut into your cases or youll be pissed. yes it can be done i did it last night on the 86.now if you got access to good air tools use a 1/2 impact on one side while you hit it from the other side with an airhammer.youll ruin the bolt but that is easily replaced at your nearest catapiller shop for about 5 bucks. you have run into a problem that most of us 250 guys have had to deal with just dont be impatiant and work at it it will come apart. if you need more help dont be afraid to ask either.. thanks monty long
oh yea when you put it back together lube the crap out of it with a good synthetic water proof grease....

Hey Motodog
You mean you cut the bolt where the swing arm is to remove the swing arm? Then what about the part of the bolt that goes through the case? That is were I think it is rusted, stuck tighter then a frogs a$$.
I am going to try a little heat next. I have beat it till I can not hit the mushroomed bolt end much more. I still can not turn the bolt head no matter how much I pull!!
If I cant turn it no one can, I am a big boy 6'4" 325lbs ex UW O lineman.

I replaced my swingarm bearings on my ll250 and had the exact same problem .I just turned the atv on its side ( be careful not to hurt plastic)nad got a heavy steel chisel and pounded away witha hammer. It came out relatively easy. Its like a pregnant woman you cant unscrew her. Im assuming you CAN get the nut off though, and needless to say i had to buy a new bolt as the pounding caused damage to the threads. THe bolts arent cheap either like 20 bucks but im not sure, you may be able to get it rethreaded but i doubt it. PLease for the love of god dont cut it so you have 3 stuck pieces instead of one.

I had the same problem Tick, I had to spray it with liquid wrench for 2 days....letting it sit. I finally got a socket on it with a long breaker bar and was able to get the bolt to spin. Then i took a brass punch and beat the other end as hard as i could till i got it started . After that i used a narror long *** punch to finish it off. I beat the hell out of it but finally it came out. I went through like 2 cans of liquid wrench and ruined the bolt but i got it out.....A new bolt will run around 35 bucks. Wicked expensive. When you put the new one in make sure you grease the hell out of it. Good luck

the needle bearing could be jammed in there too? when i got mine apart they just fell out. i bought the bike used and was told the guy put new pivit works kit in there. when i got it apart they where rusted solid. i had to use a dremel to get the rest of the cage out. thats what i did all sunday dremel the dam leftover needle bearing cage out
