Default carb. vs. efi

I own five atv's in Minnesota. Two with efi and three with carbs.

Without a doubt I'd pay extra for the efi no matter where I lived. The efi starting is much improved and you don't have the cold blooded warm up when the temperature does drop a bit.

Default carb. vs. efi

Electronic Fuel Injection is a much more efficient form of atomization of fuel to be introduced to the cylinder. Hands down. If you compared 2 engines of the same size one with efi and the other with a comparable carb, the efi might only see a small hp gain1-5 hp but the fuel is used much more efficently. As far as elevation problems, I have a 125 2 stroke (carb) bike and I lived in denver, CO for a year and then moved to Maryland (d.C.) and never changed the jets out, which you are supposed to, and the bike runs fine, but I would think If I went any higher in elevation I would have to change the jets out.

It is hard to upgrade efi. I can slap a bigger carb on for $100 or so. That's about the only advantage I can think of for a carb.
