Default Cheap Speedomtere for ATV?

I am looking for something cheap that will give me MPH, readings, and pretty accurate also. I will spend about 25$ or so, for something that is easy to install, and can easily be put onto my quad, any help?

If you have a hand held GPS or GPS enabled phone handy, you can usually find a speed indicator in the app somewhere.

Check out the local pawn shops, its posible to get a decent GPS for about 50, and even the basic units do current speed and top speed capture, along with odometer, plus all the gps fetures.

Right. I just sold a eTrek, original orange one, on eBAy for about that. It was in perfect condition and bulletproof. I replaced it with a Bluetooth GPS so I can use it with my laptop and MotoQ smartphone. I have an app on the Q that shows all the mapping and speed, altitude, trip distance, waypoints/placemarks etc. as you mention. Amazing technology for so little $$

also a simple bike speedometetr would probably work. I have one on my off road buggy and it works pretty good. I got mine at wal mart for $10 but you could get a better one for a little more $$. Mine shows speedometer, odometer, clock, trip meter, max speed, ave. speed, and trip timer. For $25 i think this is your best bet.
they are pretty accurtate as long as you set the wheel circumference accurateley.

Thats the reply I was looking for, but problem is, if I got a bike spedo, I don't know of any that let u customize the wheel circumference. I only know the kinds that just have a magnate and a lazer, or w/e.

in my manual it tells you to find the circumference of the tire in millimeters. I did whats called a roll out test. when you mark the ground and the tire and then roll the tire untill the mark on the tire is in the same spot again and mark the ground. then measure the distance between the 2 marks on the ground and that is the circumference. then just convert it into millimeters. There is a part in the setup of the speedometer where you enter the "wheel factor", which is the wheel circumference in mm in my case. the manual of you speedometer will tell you how to set up yours. I have 22" tires on my kart and some bikes have 30" tires so i am almost 100% sure it will work.
look here
Sigma BC 800
That is the speedo i have on my bicycle and its pretty nice i think. look at the instructions and you will see what i mean.
