Default kawasaki brute force backfire

When I ride on hard pack or a road at 20 MPH and let off the throttle and let the machne coast to a stop, it backfires out the exhaust real loud. I have had it to several dealers and Kawasaki says there is no cure. The back fire has at one time , on a shared use trail, caused a horse to bolt. I am afraid of any lialability of the sudden noils that it makes. is there any cure. I have even looked into getting an aftermarket carburater but cannot find one. Haaaalp me please!

The backfire is caused by lean.
Do you use ethenol blended gas, or pure gas? It can sometimes be cured by simply using pure gas, becasue the ethenol blended stuff is too lean.
Have you checked for exhaust leaks? If air enters the exhaust system, itll cause the backfire.
If those dont stop the backfire, then just go 1/4 turn richer on the mixture screws, and the back fire will stop. The dealer doesnt want to , or cant because of emissions.

Thank you for the advice I have changed fuel and that did not cure the problem. I think I will try to adjust the Idle mixture as you suggest. Again Thank you.
