Wiring melt down

Hello all can some one please help with this my 110 quads wires from the coil to the cdi box melted my coil seems to be bad now,what could cause this problem,thanks for you help.

Wiring melt down

wires melt from external heat as from an exaust pipe,engine ect. or excessive amperage
