i have a 03 kfx400 with the left side crankcase cracked behind the shifter from the chain coming off. ive never done any work on the motors. my ? is when i replace the crankcase do i have to pretty much take the whole motor apart to replace them? what gaskets do i need to buy before i start or can i reuse any of them. anything else that im going to have to get. ive been thinking about trying to do it my self but ive never done it before. anyone know how much a shop will probably charge to do it?. any help would be great.

youll probably just have to change out on side of the crankcase, get the part then you will know, your also going to have to change bearings and seals and gaskets on whatever side
