Trying to find aftermarket break lights for 1999 Honda 400EX. Was wondering what year the taillight became a break light and if possible to incorporate those parts. Thanks for all the help.

 

I'm not sure of the exact year that honda started putting brake lights as standard equiptment , but my brother's 2002 Honda TRX350FM Rancher 4x4 had them standard ; my First quad was a 1986 TRX350FM fulltime 4x4 it didn't have brakelights as standard equiptment the guy i bought it from was the original owner he had them put on as an option !

But i don't know if he had it done by the dealership , i do know that he fabricated a custom winchplate that he welded to the front bumper ; and the brake light kit he used was one of those third brake light kit's like the ones that car manufacters started putting in rear window !

Come to think about it my brother bought a 1998 Yamaha 350 Wolfverine he bought from a freind , and it had brake lights that were standard equiptment ; you might find a kit that would work on your quad at Auto Zone or another Auto Parts Store that would be cheaper than an ATV Dealership !

You are right the best way to do this is to use OEM parts and just adapt them to my wiring again apreciate the help
