Default 01 scrambler 500 carb ??

Need some advice.
Can't get scrambler 500 to stay running replaced diaphram pump filter and all lines. Wanted to rule out all easy fixes. Will run with shot or starter fluid but idea when hit throttle.
What carbs are interchangeable for 500's.
Also found a carb on auction site that looks the same but for predator 500 2003-07 will that work for me.

Carbs can be rebuilt! The BST40 Mikuni can be a bear to set the float level right, plus a lot of them do drip occasionally through the over flow tube even if every things normal. If you didn't install a carb kit,do thist first. Just cleaning carbs don't always work. Plus the float bowl holds the needle and seat in place.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shindy-Carburetor-Kit-Scrambler-500-1998-2002-Sportsman-500-01-02-Carb-Polaris-/251691018048?hash=item3a99f42740&vxp=mtr Float level is critical on this and should line up parallel with the carb body while the float tab is barely resting on the small needle plunging pin.

Ok so have a update on carb issue. Got the rebuild kit replaced all but
The small jet couldn't get it out was stripped previously
So crossed fingers on that one.
Now it runs under idle can hit the gas all good
But when I put in gear and hit the gas it dies. I
Could it be the small jet is the carb trashed.

Pull the black wire from the limiter module first and see if that helps. They're bad about shorting out and cutting spark even in forward range. Item #32 on the parts break down.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse If that doesn't help then could be partially caused by the jet. A small drill and a small extractor can remove this.

NOT understanding what your typing?? If it runs ok with the wire pulled just leave it unplugged. You'll have full power in reverse without having to push the over ride button also.A new limiter module would just go out again. No sense in replacing it.
