Mounted Harbor Freight 2500# winch under the hood, bolted to/against the front beam allowing full closure of hood to latch.
Bought a plow from Craigslist for $100, then added/formed w/ flat steel plate sheets (I had laying around doing nothing), to extend the width out equil with the front tires and mounted rubber blade wipers to match that on the plow. Used last year on ATV worked real well even on our graveled driveway.
Used a heavy steel U beam, with 2x4 filler for a soft cushion against bumper. Drilled thru bumper, used 1/2'' x 6'' Carriage bolts/nuts into bumper and the vehicle's frame connection. Eye bolts & 1'' Steel rod mounted to plow hangers and fastened together with U bolts. This way no matter how much force is against the front of the vehicle its got the frame of vehicle for strength and not against the bumper alone.
Visible from eyesight while plowing, with remote for winch movement up n down.
Mounted winch cable rollers onto 2x6 rested on top of bumper since all the force here is going down, then mounted on top of bumper to heavy steel plate bent in behind bumper avoiding the need to drill anymore holes thru bumper.
Also have a winch mounted/bolted to frame, under passenger's seat for easy remotely loading in out for cargo, tractor, utility vehicles and such.
