Were they even racing? I took off from a stop light in a GMC sierra faster than anyone else. Does that mean I won any races? No, I just took off faster. Organize a real race to get real results. And kids, get your own god d@mn vehicles and quit braggin about your daddys truck because dammit, it aint yours and you didn't race anybody so you have absolutly no bragging rights except for maybe one of those "my dad is faster than your dad" arguments and no, FORD doesn't suck, CHEVY does. Dodge is ok i guess, I might buy a dakota with a 5 speed.

And yes i told him.... i was like dude... you really think that this guy was thinkin a family in a mountaineer was goin to race him?.. but they all said that the guy was definatly racing. It kinda sucked cuz they told me this story at his house and it was me verse his stuborb family in this argument. 420ex.. how old are you? 16? 17? cuz don't be callin me a kid when were the same age! And that being my dads truck its kinda like mine becuase we share everything and i could drive it too. there is no way i would race it and disrespect my dads new truck and take the risk of wrecking it.

Did I use the term "POS" anywhere in my post? All I said was that I took off from the stop light the fastest, not that the GMC sierra is a POS, not that I won any races, absolutly nothing about it being a POS. It's a fairly good truck, it handles excellent, I love the posi-traction, hauls good, good power, nice features, overall it's a pretty good truck except for the fact that it blew the trans at 30k miles.

 

All the dodge HEMI is well, its a 5.7L 350ci wanna be HEMI not a true HEMI like the good ole days.

Its a push rod pos, with old technology.

The mercury SUVs have high output engines that 4.6 is putting out 300RWHP probably 350-375hp at the crank and its SOHC with 3 valves per cylinder.

The so called HEMI has 2 valves per cylinder and cant rev nearly as quick as the over head cam design that ford has..

So who is left in the dust Dodge and Chevy not many hi po motors coming out from them..

BTW that new dodge truck with the viper v10 it may have the lead now, when the new ford lightings come out in 05 all the dodge SR 10 owners will see is tail lights the new ford lighting will have a 565hp supercharged 5.4L v8 DOHC with 5 valves per cyl and make 550ft lbs of torque and a 6 speed manual trans that can hit 60mph out of first gear..

If ford is so bad then why is it they are the ONLY american car company that makes cars that can do more then just go fast is a straight line? the 69 and 70 boss 302s set the standard for handling even today now you have the ford GT top speed over 200+mph no vett is gonna beat this thing.

 

where do you get that the mercury has is putting down 300 RWHP? their specs page says different.

After 1972 all factory HP numbers come from the rear wheels thats how i know its 300RWHP

Fords 5.4 that will be in the new 05 stangs has 3 valves per cyl.

The 5.4 DOHC thats in the navigator and other ford vehicles has 32 valves,, 4 per cyl.
