The first time I ever towed something my girlfriend and I borrowed her fathers truck, and popup trailer. I get in the truck, tell her line me up and tell me when to stop. Easy enough, she does. Or so I think. I get out of the truck, walk back, look at the hitch, look at the trailer, look at the hitch, look at the trailer again, look at her, she looks at me with the "What?" face, I point at the truck, and say "get in" LOL. I was about 10 inches short, and 4 inches off to the left. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Only women who give bad backing directions are the ones who have never backed a trailer on there own or they suck at it. So dont make it look or sound like every woman can't back trailers. Cause some of us can back trailers better then you men.

 

Ok maybe you can. Can ya sit in a lawn chair sipping a cold one and enjoy the blue collar comedy tour when your hubby gives it a try???.

Seldom is my wife around to help me hook up my trailer...I get home from work and do it without her. However, she was home a couple weeks ago when I was preparing to hook it up and offered to help me. BAD DECISION!!! All it did was prolong the job and create a dispute between the two of us. Your explanation of "hands waving you back, to the right, to the left" are right on. What a pain. Definitely best to do it yourself.

 

ha ha, this is a funny thread[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] since we are gender bashing. why can't guys ask for directions? they act like they are not lost they just need to find the right street and after driving around for an hour "see i told you i knew were i was going" (woman just rolls her eyes)

You make a good point about gender bashing. We shouldn't be doing this. We all have our place...it's just that the place of most of your gender is in the kitchen. Only kidding! Actually, I know of a couple girls that do the mechanical work in their household while their husbands sit by and watch. Additionally, FYI, I'm even guilty of not asking for directions.
