Got a HEMI?

WOW. I would be takin' it back to the dealer to get it checked out. Mine is getting 15MPG avg. on the overhead puter today. That would bankrupt me just gettin' back and forth to work. I also got the 34 gallon tank.

I have a 2003 SLT Quad cad 4x4 HEMI, SWB with the 20inch wheels and I love it! Getting around 11-12 mpg around town and 15-16 hwy. I've had the truck for 12 months and have 14k trouble free miles on it. Now that I said that something is sure to break! Add ons include Westin tube steps and a billet gas cap cover thingy. I raced a Ford power stroke deisel a while back and that thing gave me a good run. I did win of course but not by nearly as much as I thought I would.

Well I have have about 28000 miles on my 03 have had it about 15months and I'm getting around 11-13 average driving and 15- 16 on the road sometimes don't use 87 octane because the hemi was rated for 89 or better fuel for any economy. I have 20" wheels and 3.92 anti-spin differential (wont turn the tires unless it is wet out) (( which saves on the rubber)) I have a westin bullbar CPS and a set of PIAA lights on the front along with Luverne Wheel To Wheel nerf bars with a Covermaster CMI 1000 cabhi topper along with a Access Cover and some putco pocket lockers when the topper is not on. I also put a K&N drop in filter in and that is when I finally started see better milage. Last winter I average 11.8 about all winter and between 9-10 when using my auto start. Great Truck but can't wait to replace it with a 600HO diesel next year hopefully.

My dealer said the 20 inch rims and the 3.92 gear ration will lower the gas mileage. So, I have 17 inchers and 3.55 rear end without the anti-spin diff. What is the auto start? Is that the remote start deal? How does that affect the gas mileage? I put the third brake light cover that looks like flames on tonight. It looks cool.

i've got an 04' hemi quadcab with the 20's and I get about 11-13 mpg around town and 14.6-17 mpg on the expressway. I only see 17 when I am using the cruise at about 70-75 mph. I talked to a guy at the gas station one night that was filling his hemi up at the same time and he said his mpg was about the same as mine until he installed an Airraid intake system. he said he gets about 18-19 around town now and over 20mpg on the expressway. wow. does anyone else have one and ifso does it really work.

I was thinkin about getting the airraid cold intake system for the Hemi. When I do, I will let you know. Right now I am getting about 14.6 on the highway back and forth to work. Prob. about 10-11 in town. I am not sure about the cold air intake though cause I live in Wyoming. How will this affect the truck inthe harse winters we have here? I might get it and change it out in the winter months.

With 17 inch rims, you get something like a 329 versus the 392 gear in the rear ends. I have 26000 miles on mine... 2wd crew cab. I started to have a crunch noise in the rear end, sounded and felt like a needle bearing... Dealer says Dodge tells everyone to change gear oil on schedule B every 15000. What a crock.... well, I called Dodge, they said the dealer was smoking something.... that Schedule A is OK with them... so I got my 80 bucks back.... Oh, and they changed the oil and the noise did go away... But they kept the truck for 3 days.... Hmmmm, I still bet they changed a bearing, and wouldn't fess up to it. Any way, I have never changed rear gear oil in anything before 100K... Every 15000 is a bit much.
Getting 16 to 18 at 65... all the way up to a best of 22 MPH.... but if you take it to 80, it drops to 13. Only pulling around 2K RPM at 75 with teh 17's. In town, I get 16.3, and I like to hear my pipes roar if you know what I mean..... License plates read "Rumbles"
You guys with the 20s have nice looking wheels, but you lose the load rating... so be careful you don't overload it.
