Unfortunatly the motor blew up in my truck today.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] It is a 1994 chevy silverado. It has a 305 in it now. I want to put a 350 in it instead. Has anyone here done this before? I think All I have to do to make it work is swap the Proms in the computers. Is this true? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also any links to web sites that have this sort of thing, would be great.

I need to get this back on the road ASAP!!!!

dont waste you time on the 350. put a 383 stroker in it. way morepower. i had a 95 z71 and when it die i put a 383 in it with vortec head mild cam and a new intake . had jetperformance reprogramit and it was a new truck for what it would cost to make 5 payments on a new one. in your casea create 350 will drop in with no mods either just have your chip updated to 350 specs.

 

You will also need to swap the injectors out of you throttle body. You will need injectors for a 350 or the engine will run lean with the 305 injectors. So you should just need the injectors and a PROM for a 350, other than that everything will bolt up.

hello i have been to a car show hee on long island n seen a 1990 or 92ish chevy pick up with a carburator set up doing away with the whole efi thing? i have seen this set up on trucks for sale on ebay! i have helped once pulling a efi motor out of a k 5 blazer n it was hard but after so finagling we got it out, we were taking the parts for a hot rod project! i have a 1992 gmc sierra 4x4 with a 350 engine! i think thsi was one of the last years they made the 350!

 

The swap shouldn't be a problem at all. Like stated earlier, if you put a 400 SB crank in the 350 you get the 383 stroker engine which is a great little set up that still is good with pump gas.
