Default Ragen Toy Haulers.

We are thinking about purchasing one of these toy haulers and I was wondering if anyone on here has them and how they have liked them

I am planning on getting a 24' or a 26'. And I was also wondering how you guys think that a 82 3/4 ton chevy with a 350 and an RV cam, headers & Flowmasters! It has 35" tires on it! I was wondering how you guys think that it would pull!

Thanks!

Pulling isn't the problem ... it's stopping ... i've seen people pull 32 footer with a F150 stock ... but they can't stop or control it in high windows. Watch your GVWR, your brakes ARE WAY more important than the engine.

Well I got the 1 ton rear end with bigger brakes, and I got all new brakes all the way around , and all parts, not just the pads, and shoes. Also I will have trailer brakes for sure!

you shouldn't have any problems towing that. We used to pull a 25ft toy hauler with a 1/2 ton surburban and it pulled and stoped just fine.

My best friend has a 21ft Ragen. They love it... the only issues I've heard about are the battery always going dead (we told them to upgrade and get a larger battery or another battery, which they've done) and the water pump which seemed to have a slow "drip" somewhere making the pump run about every 5 minutes. Other than that, it seems to be a well made trailer.... good luck!

The battery problems are sometimes related to the tiny chargers that are used in the trailers. Look into upgrading the charger/inverter or adding a solar panel. The stock chargers run a #10 wire to the battery, which is only good for about 25 amps. That's fine for trickle charging at home, but not when you need to get the batteries charged up by the onboard generator.
