Save the thread!

I've got a 2002 HD2500 Crew 4x4 6.0 6.5box with 4.10 gearing and stock tires. I've been shopping for a toy hauler and though I'm really hesitant to pull a 10,000gvw trailer, it seems anything less just doesn't offer as much room for 2 atv's and a dirt bike, plus allow enough headroom where I don't have to duck the A/C unit (I'm 6-3).

I've been looking at the Tailgator by Thor. Bumper hitch. Anyone have any experience pulling one of these with a 6.0 GM?

Hey rickpred, i have a superduty V10 that i pull a 30ft 11k dry weight 5'er with. I do not speed pulling anything but my boat, but i can tell you this i would not go higher and would be more comfortable with about 3k less weight. My rig handles it well, it loves the rpms at 4-5k on hills and i even pass the oil burners pulling less loads. I do not have any specifics on the 6.0 from chevy but i have heard a few things. Goto this site an read or search under towing and towrigs and post up your q's before buying anything. clicky clicky

ricpred you never stated what gears you have? 4:10 would be good if you're going to do any hills, 10,000 lbs sounds like a very good number to me. My friend has a hd with a 6.0, and its o.k., he just takes it a little bit easier with a bigger load. Kamots..... the oil burners you passed with your v-10 were obviously driving the speed they felt like, not as fast as they could, even with an aftermarket supercharger you would have trouble hanging with a PROPERLY set-up oil burner. I'll go with any of blackandredwarrior's numbers, he steers to the side of caution, we all know theres people who like to push the limits, and every week we see their picture on the news somewhere, crashed, its not always how fast you can go, sometime you gotta stop, or turn, or something. Be safe, its not always the destination your in search of.
