I am getting ready to purchase a generater/inverter for camping. I have determined that I need a 3000 watt generator and I want a quiet one. Looking for opinions on Honda EU3000is and Yamaha EF3000IS generators. Or if anyone has had good luck with other brands that would be as quiet as the honda and yamaha I would like to know that as well.

Thanks

those 2 units are awesome,,,and a bit pricey

you will be happy with either one

I ended up going with a Kipor

Check out the Kipor KGE3500Ti also,,,,some of them on ebay.

They are very comparable to the 2 you mentioned but 1/2 the price.

I have the Honda 3000, and my buddy has the Yamaha 3000. Both are excellent, and very quiet!

The Yamaha does have the "boost" feature, where it draws on the battery for a moment while an appliance is starting up (some things use a lot more current at startup than they use while running).

Bing,

Thanks for the reply...how long have you had your KIPOR generator? any complaints? any experience with parts or service for it?

FYI, I paid $870 for the genny. Since then the prices have come down a bit,,,,and i have seen 3500ti's going for around $750-850.

I can snap some more pics if anyone wants me too,,,,close ups and such.
