Do you mean real truck? Or real engine? There is a huge difference here. Great engine...crappy truck. Dodge needs to start building something more than just an engine. It's called a package. Doesn't do any good if part of it is good and the rest is crap.

smileyboy, if you just want to tow two quads around and a small trailer, then I would look for something like the Grand Cherokee with a v-8/tow package or a full size pickup. I'm not sure about the current generation, but weren't the earlier Frontiers supercharged four bangers? If so this is not an ideal tow rig. I tow a 20' car hauler from time to time with 1 or 2 quads on it. Did it ONCE with my brothers Jimmy w/4.6 and tow package. It had the power(barely) but not the wheelbase. Now I use a 3/4 ton Dodge Hemi and it muscles the trailer around like it is barely there. I would think a 1/2 ton would serve you fine. Just make sure to get a v-8 and at least 3:73 gears/tow package. You definately do NOT need a 3/4 ton or diesel to haul 2 quads(although this setup would laugh at hills too.)

wow, i haul 2 quads with a 93 subaru legacy, and pull truck grades all day long in Pa, recommending a f-250 or 350 like its a requirement is insane, either you guyz have 0 patience, or think if you lose 10 mph on a hill your pushing your truck too hard.

recomendation, either take the lift off your truck, and go down to a normal size tire, or get a nice v6 or something, the toyota tacoma, is a beast my buddy has the 05 trd package with 5 speed, thing is a beast towing, he's pulled 4 quads before better then i can yank 2 up the hill

i don't take offense at all, hell its got a 3500 pound hitch on it, and i get 19mph towing at 72mph, lol can you claim that with your jeep. i got over 22 when i was drifting a semi doing 65.

don't know y your so skeptical of suby's towing, 3 guyz in my riding group use them, the other 2 have forester's but eh they work just fine.

Want to hear something scary???? i have a hitch on order for my 2.2l 98 cavalier, which will be used to tow the same trailer, lol too many miles put on from towing, got a little over 14k on the subby now from towing. runs great at 92k, i expect well over 150k.

but to be honest it sounds like your not patient if your jeep runs circles around my subby, go get a v8 f-150 then, prolly more what u want. i have little money i make it work with what i have.

lol on a side note, i never said my subaru would out tow you, take it easy man just telling you what i use, i could careless if you can beat me up the hill, my ego is just fine, i don't need to boost it any

The way i see if if your gonna drop 12K on somthing why not get somthing that will tow somthing larger??? Will a half ton pull it, sure i've pulled 10K+ with an F-150 before would i do it for very long NO but it got the job done.... If you lose 10mph on a hill then i'd say you are pushing your rig some, enough to hurt anything no, but I like to be able to set the cruise and tow up and down hills with what ever i hook to and not worrie about.... I guess its just difference in areas or somthing, because around here you always tow somthing bigger than you planned..... If your gonna go, go big......

why on earth would you tow with a caviler????? that sub-frame is gonna love that, so is that transmission...

why??? couple reasons

like i said before too many miles going on the subby

hoping to get better mpg

lol and just a little to **** of people who pay 30 k to pull 2 quads, i have 0 concerns pulling with the cavalier, i talked to a couple people towing with them they do fine, and they do have a tow rating. The way i look at it if they make a hitch for it, then u can tow with it, or there would be liability up the butt

They put hitches on 4 wheelers to, so why not pull with them?? I personally would not put anything with a car. Why laugh at people who spend 30K? maybe they don't wanna ride around in a "subby" ......... I bought a Superduty because I think there one of the best pickups ever made, and will pull anything I put behind it, I can haul all my buddies quads around to where we ride, Lets see ya pull a 25foot trailer behind your SUbby, the tounge weight alone would put your bumper on the ground...... Some vehicles just arn't made to tow.......

um derage hate to burst your bubble but i actually moved a 33 foot sun chaser across a parking lot, more on a dare then anything, my bumper did not hit the ground i dropped about 4 inches, this was about 450 pounds on the tongue. so please, not to mention u can easily change tongue weight if you know what your doing.

you personally wouldn't pull anything with a car, well thats your opinion based on 0 facts, but thats fine with me

lets move on to your next part if you read my post i said spend 30k on a truck to pull 2 quads, i didn't just blanket the statement with any vehicle for 30k. please respond to what i actually wrote

so your f-150 will pull anything you put behind it huh? sorry thats another nice blanket statment. i have a trailer you would blow the tires out of your f150 the second we dropped the weight on it, just because you towed 10k don't mean trailers stop at that weight. but thanks for playing

i like superduty's they are nice though. but please unless u actually have towed with said vehicle please don't say they can't tow

ps i have pulled trailers with my quad,??? i even pulled my subby up a hill with my rancher just for the fun of it. thats 18 hp to pull a 2700 pound vehicle, just because you haven't tried it doesn't mean it can't happen

I don't own an F-150, And i said i'd never pull that weight with it again, BECAUSE i couldn't stop it worth a crap.....

450lbs of tounge weight is very little......... You can't change tounge weight?? Your suppose to have 15% i beleive of the total trailer in tounge weight, Sure I can load a trailer for less tounge weight but when it swaying down the road you'll wish you had a vehicle to handle the right amount of tongue weight.... You can tow all you want with a car, im guess saying there not ment to tow with and the transmission isn't made to handle it.....
