Chevy Dually for me?

Chevy Dually for me?
My father has a 1998 Chevrolet dually (the truck in my pics page is my step-fathers). It's fully optioned - diesel, 4X4, extra cab...all the good stuff. Believe it or not it only has 65,000 original miles. He wants to sell it, and I want to buy it. The problem is that I am not a fan of duallys. My question is what is involved with converting a dually into a regular truck? Obviously I will need to take off the fiberglass fenders. But is anything else involved? Does something need to be done in order to put regular wheels on the front end as far as spacing goes? Or is taking off the rear fenders all that is needed? I can get it at a REAL good price, and I would hate to let a garage-kept diesel 4X4 slip out of my hands. Thanks guys.

Usually the front has a spacer that puts the lugs out further. You'll need to get those off (one on each side.) Otherwise the truck will look absolutely stupid. The back end axle might also need to be shortened or changed. It's probably best to ask on an actual truck-centered forum, and specifically one geared towards GM trucks.
