Trailer Lights
#1
Just bought a set of LED tail lights from Academy Sports. Expensive but hopefully will last longer than the others I've had. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with this type light?

LED lights are very nice but I think the biggest problem people have with them is that they break them off not burning out or not working. In that case, buy the cheap ones

The biggest problem with the leds, is the light has a very narrow field of view. As you move (to the side)away from being directly in the view, the light dims off very quickly. The older incandesant lights , cast a wide field of view, so its important that you aim the lights, to be as visible as posible.

Went thru three sets on our boat trailer before we caught the thieves. Since then, no problems. We run them on the trucks on the farm and they seem to be working out very well.

I have them on my trailer and they work just fine. Even added the side marker leds as well. I like then because they are then and sit nicely in the pocket where the original ones go. they sit far back enough that I have no worries if I back up and knock it a bit. I went thru four sets of the originals as the kept breaking due to my poor reverse skills...
All in all I am happy with them.
