Default Storing quads on the trailer.....

I dont have a lot of room in my garage. So I leave the quads on the trailer. My question is will leaving the quads strapped down to the trailer cause any damage to the suspension or tires if it is left for extended periods of time? The suspension gets pulled down pretty hard by the straps.

Is it better to release the pressure off the quads? Or does it make no difference at all?

I would release the tension on the straps since it is so easy to do. There could be negative effects on the suspension and definitely the tires. You dont want any flat spots.

Agreed that you don't want to store them with the suspension compressed. To keep it easy, you could strap them down below the suspension, that way you clould keep your tie-downs on. We use chains and turnbuckles down low - avoids those times when the bounce of the suspension can release a strap hook.

I know from when I was a racer, that there used to be talk about having to rebuild forks and shocks more often because of it.. I can't say for sure myself though.

Id say like others, just release the tension on the straps when they are going to sit, dont have to take them off just release tension. Then when you take them just pull or ratchet straps tight again... I think its harder on the suspension on a dirtbike as you have to tie down tighter to keep from falling over. I use a 4x4 piece of wood betwen front tire and fender (under the fork) so i can tie down without compressing suspension as much. dont think would work well on that with an atv though.

They have these new straps that I seen in some magazines, they strap just the tires down. But for the life of me I can not rememmber the name.
