Default Loading quad on rear wheels

Ok,
I am going up to New Hampshire from Mass and its a 3 hour drive. I'm going with my dad who owns a 02 rappy660 and i own a ktm250sx. Is there anyway to load both bikes on 1 truck safely? I saw a picture on google of it 1 time. The guy had the quad tipped up on the rear wheels standing straight up. Is this safe? And does it cause a problem with the oil or gas? Thanks for any help.
Dan

I think it would be a problem with a carburator and may cause other leakages of axles, transmissions, etc. Anything with a breather tube would be subject to leaking. I wouldn't do it.

well if you own a full size truck, that doesnt have a step side box you should be able to fit both in the box. simply by putting them side by side. but the quad in first, move as far left(or right) as possible then push your dirt bike beside the quad. me and my buddies do it all the time, very easy.

I saw a couple guys doing this at the St Anthony dunes(Idaho) this summer. They had come from California. They loaded one, pulled the front up so it was on its a$$ end and then scooted it forward. Then loaded the second one same way, then used tie downs on both of them. Not sure what it affected gas and oil wise, but it didn't look too difficult for them.

I've seen 2-stokes stood up on end but never 4-strokes. I think the oil would drain out somewhere. Probably into the airbox.

saw the mounts posted somewhere so that they are loaded with the front end up same company makes the mounts for putting your toys on top of your pickup bed using a side load system . Will try to find the link , it was posted on one of the forum but can't remember which one.

It will not be a problem at all. I store a Warrior, Blaster, and Viper 90 like that in my garage and have transported them like too. No issues at all.

I don't think you're suppossed to do that with 4-strokes.

Just riding up and down hilly trails will get some oil in your air box ,but to stand a ATV on end and leave it would fill a air box from the crank vent tube.

Been doing to for years without any issues at all. I let it sit for a bit after setting it down before starting it up though
