Thats what I'm talking about. Nice setup you have there.

Ramps on the side rails and drive them on, then ramps on side rails to unload. Use 4x4 to crawl over the rails and down the ramps.

Default more pics, please???!!!!

Does anyone have pics of their quads INSIDE the trailers? I am looking to get an enclosed trailer. Here is what I currently have:

2005 800 Sportsman
2004 400 Sportsman
2003 250 Trailblazer
1986 Suzuki LT80 (moded). This machine will be upgraded in 2012 so I need to plan for something closer to the 250 Trailblazer in size for the future!!

If necessary I can put one quad in the truck bed (8' bed). However, I'd like to see if I can fit two of these machines side-by-side in an enclosed trailer.

The specs on the Sportsmans are 50" wheelbase. This means at 100" they would NOT fit side-by-side even with a 102" (8.5') trailer. But I HAVE seem them side-by-side in a 5th-wheel toy hauler.

They should all fit sideways but these machines are simply too big to try to turn unless someone has used a jack or other method to turn them for loading.

Looking for ideas if anyone wants to throw them out!!

I'm currently trying to sell a 6x16 v-nose enclosed trailer that I just bought because I messed up with the size. What was I thinking that 2 2011 Tourings and a 2008 Outlaw 50cc would all fit???

So...now I am looking at an 8.5x20 or 24 for future growth potential. It's a total bummer...and I am glad that you are asking the right questions.

I've thought about storing one or more machines sideways in the 8.5 enclosed. My idea is to use a pair of VEHICLE POSITIONING JACKs that will allow me to place on the rear tires and jack up the atv. Push and rotate using the front steering into position. Haven't tried it yet...but should work fine.

See link for example: Torin Big Red VEHICLE POSITIONING JACK (S) - Sears Automotive Parts and Accessories

Good luck...

TwinLT80, the wheelbase is the measurement from center of the front axle to center of the rear axle. The Sportsman models you have are 48" wide unless someone has put wider than stock rims and/or tires on. You can fit two fullsize Sportsman on/in an 8' wide trailer. It's tight. I have a 12'x101" snowmobile trailer that I put a rim of 2x6s on so it still is 98" wide between the 2x6s.

You are right, I meant to say track width. What is worse, I looked up more info and the wheelbase IS the # I was looking at - it seem 46" is the trackwidth with stock tires - which they are.

Ok, this is awesome and I think I will measure both machines parked side x side just be be sure. Now it seems to me an any enclosed trailer 26' or shorter (notwithstanding the snowmobile-styles which have the deck above the tires) that the wheel wheels would interfere with parking the machines in the back end, side x side.

I turn the T/B 250 sideways on our 16' open trailer but I wonder if 8' or even 8.5' is wide enough to turn an 800 Sportsman sideways in an enclosed trailer???

Regardless, turning that beast has got to be a chore!

So will two Sportsmans fit side x side in an 8' trailer???? Seems like they should but if the tires are cambered at all (these are Polaris's so let's face it - they WILL be on the front at least) then they may not make it!!! UGH!!

It will be tight at best. I think some of the wider trailers might be about 98" inside the walls???? Anyone know for sure???

Here's a link to a guy who sells trailers and quads. It seems like it is 98" on the inside of the trailer. Triton XT-248 ROUTE 3A MOTORS, INC. NORTH CHELMSFORD, MA (978) 251-4440
