Well, I made it back. I put a whole 20 minutes on the bike this weekend whew. Man. It wore me out. LOL. Sorry you couldn't make it rescue. We had a mostly cool time. I've noticed a few things:

People who don't nomally go to Pismo have no respect. They bring wood WITH FLIPPIN NAILS in it! Will leave trash...well...a TENT if not told to take it.

Children and like house dogs. Fine and cool in their normal environment. But when they get together, they become completely different. A pack of normal house hold pet dogs can take cattle down.

Arg. Sorry. Have to vent. The little....well you know what I would say... cut my rope I use for tying stuff down. Kept plaing with my shovels (yes, I had 3. LOL. Spade, flat and a fox shovel for cleaning out my BBQ.)

It was a bit cool out, especially last night. Only time I spent out in the dunes was in my friends '03 Duramax. Nice truck. I have one gripe...they suck when you bounce. There's no "weight" in the go peddle. You bounce and your foot will just hammer it, and you end up launching in the air. Needs a heavier throttle spring. That should cure it. The owner agreed. He was completely stock and was pulling people out. hehe. They are nice and quiet though. He ran out of gas in his bike so I got to drive the truck back. I still want a Ford though, so you don't have to worry.

It's gonna take me a while to catch up on the threads.

Sorry, I didn't make it. Spent Friday running the kids around and working on the BBQ. Wanted to finish it this weekend. And I can say it is done. Pictures are floating around in outer space bouncing off of some satellites. As soon as they come back down, they will get approved. There's even one in there of me and my daughter.
Isn't this summer strangeI bet it was chilly there, it was 65 degrees last night at 1030. Definately not the typical summer we are use too. But, I like it anyways. My family and I fall into the house dogs at Pismo. We take our three little chuhuahuas with us. They however stay on the trailer or back trailer rack. At night they do come in to the trailer. They don't do much barking though.
You know you'd think they would stop the people coming in with the pallets. I've seen trucks just pile them in the back and drive down the beach. You just know that the nails aren't going to burn away.
Why did you only do 20 mins of riding? To much partying I can't believe you said something nice about a Duramax in a FORD thread. Now, your going to get Confused, all confused again and thinking about buying one. After all the ******* we did to him about crossing over Wait a minute, is he already crossed over, as in "cross dresser"
After seeing what they pay in taxes in Canada, I can see why he would need to wear his wifes clothing
B&W, are you going to be doing any riding on the 21 or 22? Family is going out of state for a few days. I might go to Oregon riding my quad and camping with my hunting buddies, if not, might be looking to ride that weekend.

New pictures are finally posted. There is one of me too. I can take the shots, really I can
Where'd they go? Guess a moderator didn't like them

Actually, I corrected a picture and had to resend it.

The highs were supposed to be in the upper 60s. THe lows, not sure. Though last night at 1:00am it was pretty nippy if ya know what I mean.

The animal comment was about the kids. I'm so ready to take an Xacto out....

These weren't pallets. Brought garbage cans full of wood. Looked like 2x4 lumber nailed. Like demo material. I was something seriously tweaked this morning when I seen it burning after I put it back in the cans last night. And there was still wood with no nails it left there that I brought. So it was just left on the beach. That's the only thing I leave behind. I'm sure someone will grab it and burn it. Usually we jsut tell someone "TAKE IT!" poof...gone. I ain't hauling it back and restacking it. Too much work.

Not sure where I'm going to be riding next. ) Maybe if I can get power out of the tin can and on the 'Lander and hit Miami area. Do the cabin thing. Bust out the BBQ. Did a lot last night BBQed about 3 dinners I think. Someone had some deer (nasty) and elf (yummie). SOmeone else I heated up what they had (cooked a pizza the night before...really, on the gril. Yup.) And I BBQed some beef ribs. I eat better when I ride that any other time. LOL

hmm, the camera icon isn't beside your post. you're a moderator, why can't you approve your own photos? If you were to abuse the privilege, then they could pull your mod. status.

I cross dress cuz i LIKE it, not cuzza the $$. actually, I'm ALWAYS in filthy, grubby clothes cuz I'm always working on one of the quads or bikes, or home reno, or powerstroke or van or whatever. I ruin new clothes within a week. I must look like a bum, but it's what's inside that counts, right? but I do draw the line at speedo. Hey, i can see a competitive swimmer having a reason to wear one, but unless you've got the roll of socks sewn into the lining, why??( I don't like to show off like that ). I don't dress like Michael Schumacher to drive my car... ooops, sorry... USA=Nascar fanatics, okay then.... I don't dress like Jeff Gordon to drive. what?, that's the same as cross dressing?

65 degrees, i think we've been warmer. my hot-tub has had the heater off for 2 months and the water was 86 degrees at 11PM.

Duramax.. I don't think I could now...in honor of my pal. You know, the diesel mechanic I mentioned last week. well... got the call that he passed away. I guess his suffering is over, and his family's agonizing to care for him. 48 y/o, leaves behind wife and 3 kids, 2 still in school. i feel really sad for them. have they ever planned a neat tribute. no funeral or church procession. the Ford dealer where he worked is the setting, in the shop. the staff is staying late and the pall-bearers are wearing their coveralls. they're taking him away in an F350 powerstroke.

I posted for info on Yamaha forum. no reply. problem there is it is such a busy forum, you're on page 7 the same day you post, and you rarely get responses. Unless you post in gangsta-rappa talk, swear your brains off and trash about how "my mudda-f'in Banshee can kick-a** ova yo mudda-f'in 'quadzilla". NOW there's a place for moderating . also tried kids quads, now there's a helpful group.

okay, this is a trailer etc.., forum so here's some real nitty-gritty chat. I bought an 18' tandem axle car hauler. I'm fixing it up and need to sell it to pay off those other 2 toys I just bought. I thought about keeping it as a general purpose hauler and using a camper on truck instead of our trailer. i think I'd rather find a nice enclosed trailer (way bigger $$ though) . And rescue has solved my hauling problem too with rear trailer rack.

ANYHOW...back to the light... this flatdeck was pretty rough and one of the electric brakes was disconnected, and another had badly frayed wires. the wiring was completely disconnected for all the lights. got the lights working. hooked up the brake wiring. one brake seems to work and 3 don't work. I get a loud buzzing noise when I brake. there are 2 green wires for each brake. I assume one is for ground and one is power, and it doesn't matter how you do it, as neither wire is colored differently. HELP! what's wrong?

Partying? Yeah, me and my Diet Pepsi. Wow. Gotta watch out for this wild child. LOL. Actually I don't drink, at all, never ever. And no, I don't practice a religious from WW home state. I get that all the time.

SO, the family is leaving, new BBQ...spa...damn, party at Rescue's house. Wait...that grill...it's gas! What's WRONG WITH YOU? You have a diesel, but you grill with gas? Have you gone mad?

I only have done lights, so I have no clue.

I assume you have a controller, and have played with the power levels going back. I know you should hear them "clink" when you touch the brakes. If they are just buzzing, I'd say they don't have enough power to work. Either cause of the bad wiring (I'd replace it obviously). And make sure no hardware is missing in the brakes.

Take out an exacto LOL, So, were these people in your group or a group next to you? I also leave the firewood I don't burn behind. Like you said, it's gone before you can blink an eye. Friends we go with on Thanksgiving, bring like 2 cords for the week we are there. If any is left over, they stack it up and bring it home. (I don't think so) They even have a orchard in the family, so firewood is something they are not short of.
I'll let you know if I'm around that weekend, if so, maybe we can meet up. I don't mind traveling to the Miami trails if needed.

Hey guys, listen to Confused, you might learn somethingLike Rescue can help you out if you listen Hey, I'm glad it helped solve one of the small problems in life

Confused, There's a camera icon next to it. Are you sure you have your eyes open? I know they might be closed when you look in the mirror, especially now that you admitted to cross dressing. I feel sorry for your kids WW go up north and get your boy back And you talked about S.F.

Sorry to hear about your friendMy prayers are for his family.

We are about 10-14 degrees cooler then we should be. This is the time to be in Pismo, nice cool ocean breeze. The coast always gets cool at night. Especially with the marine laying hanging around until the sun burns it off.
I hear you about the Yamaha forum. We do spend sometime there. Alot of well, you said it
If you don't get a answer, bump your question back up to the top. Especially now that the weekend is over. Hopefully a Yamaha Tech surfing at work sees it. If not, I can check with our local shop. Know the owner pretty good. It's the salesmen that won't give me a deal. Always wait for owner to show up
Your trailer lights, Hhmmm, maybe the magnet in the brake housing isn't releasing? Are all three wheels wired the same way, two green wires? Electricity is not my forte' I usually have to do it a couple times to get it right. I know it's wrong when my hair stands on end and I haven't used any gel yet

your pics were up by the time I finished my post. seriously awesome job on the bbq. but it seems to be more than just a bbq, it's like an outdoor kitchen . problem with that huge grill is now you'll attract the large groups of free-loaders and mooches!LOL Actually, it looks awesome for entertaining, especially with the pool. you better go give WW some help with his tiling. you must be Italian or Portugese, cuz those are the only folks I know who can do big tile and brick jobs like that... plus i noticed the fortress-brick block fence around your pool (or is that to keep you in the asylum ?

the cover's either gotta go or will go. what I mean is, we had something similar over our hot-tub, and it blew over the roof one windy day. just got another one from Costco, and now I've anchored it down. can you anchor yours? you must get some strong winds (other than the sphincter variety) . Is the Q on propane, or natural gas?

you weiner! , we can barely see you in that photo.

And BTW, I know US beer sucks compared to our higher octane Canadian stuff.... but what impressed the most was the bottle of Canadian rye whiskey... and the good stuff no less.. Crown Royal! I'm impressed. you got class! OR, a Canadian friend . (which is more likely). The best bourbon I've ever tried doesn't come close to the smoothness of that whiskey. Bourbon is like rubbing alcohol/rot-gut and porch-climber all combined.

Now to tie in truck theme, when I first got my dually, my buddy traded me a 1982 PW50 for a Makita compound mitre/sliding chopsaw PLUS, I hauled 2 loads of cinder blocks and 2 yards of washed sand to his cabin.the blocks are the same as your fence, and he needed enough to have his Portugese buddy build a 35' high chimney. It snows lots there in the winter, so it is a super steep metal roof, 10/12 pitch (?). his cabin is past Whistler, in a gorgeous moutain range. road is unbelievably tough to drive on (very bumpy and steep, but you can get a car through). old logging road that is maintained, but lots of switchbacks.

the guy told us the blocks were 40lbs each. Genuis buddy figures, whadda they know? (they only deal with this stuff everyday), they only weigh 20 lbs each (WRONG). I borrow a 16' car hauler, 7000lb capacity. I put close to 2 yards of wahed sand in the truck box. heavy, dense stuff. they put 2 pallets of blocks on the trailer (90 blocks to the pallett) and the tires look low. they start to lower the 3rd and tires start to pancake, so I waved them off. I have the wrong ballmount drop, plus way too much weight. I end up off-loading half a pallett onto the truck.trailer tongue is inches from ground, which makes for more of a dead-pull for the truck. I got a rear dually flat, and was able to drive 30 miles before I could get to a tire store, and it never ruined the tire. this load was pre-chip days too. tranny fluid got real heated up. almost lost my brakes on a downhill switchback.

BTW anyone, on the PSD, if your overdrive light starts flashing on the automatic gearshift lever, it's a warning that you're overheating tranny.

this cabin is one of the most scenic places you'll ever see. buddy has an incredible cabin there, right on a crystal clear lake. I'll get pics one day. to see general area, do a search for Tyax Lodge.
