My buddy has a '97 with the Powerstroke. He just poured a bunch of money into it (like $6000 I think), wow is it ever a towing machine now. I got to drive it with his camper and a heavy load in the trailer behind. Climbing some steep hills to get to the hunting/camping,riding area we go to. Which by the way he use to have to stop 4 times to let the tranny cool down and the exhaust cool down. Now he doesn't have to stop at all .
This thing tows great no matter where you are towing, good acceleration, drive smooth, etc.

I can't remember all the exact details like which brands (but he didn't get the cheap ones), but here is what I remember:

Gauge cluster with Exhaust Temp, Tranny Temp, and Turbo Temp
Turbo (one of the good ones)
Exhaust brake, which works awsome and sure save the brakes
New tranny cooler
Superhitch with extension (wow that is cool)

Confused, Did you get a check back from the Canadian Gov't Was this something you bought and on the presumption "easier to ask for forgiveness, then permission" On minor purchases couple hundred or so, I just buy it, but something like that, I get permission
Glad you got that bike running and it didn't cost you an arm and a leg. In Canadian, that would of been an arm, leg and one child
The VIN on the breeze should be on the left side of the bike, on the frame tube that is by the left foot peg. Should also have it on the right side of the neck. Did I read your post right, your selling the Suzuki?

Well, almost finished the BBQ, need about another hour on it Thank God, tomorrow (Sunday) will be 2 months in the making But it looks great. And Yes, I could cook a pig in it:Now, that you said that, I just might have to go and hunt one down

Quad4fun, Welcome to our thread. That's alot of money your friend put in that truck. The 1997 models didn't have the intercoolers, so they lacked the power, 99 and above models have. I know with my set-up, it's great towing up hills, actually it's great towing anywhere

Just saw on ESPN2, radio control trucks pulling weighted sleds. There was one where the truck weighed 10lbs and it was pulling the sled with 40 lbs on it. Pretty cool What will they think of next

rescue, i might sell the 'Zuki, it's in pretty rough shape, and I'm not sure how anxious I am to wrench another quad. I looked on the Breeze and see where the plastic coated VIN should have been , but isn't there any longer. i know sometimes those will peel off with pressure washing. can't find any other numbers. there are no footpegs, only full footboards. I stood it on end looking for a VIN, and couldn't find one. shouldn't there be one permanently stamped in steel somewhere, like on a frame rail? I wonder if engine # will confirm the model year?

as fas as $$ goes.... both of these were good deals and I'd been watching for quite awhile, so they were hard to pass up. The 80 is probably 1 year early, but the newer stuff is rarely for sale and usually more $$. At least i know this one has virtually no use.

the Breeze i'm beginning to second guess, but they're rare to see for sale and i could flip it for same $$ or maybe a little better. And, I'm always buying and selling good deals on different things, so the profits usually help with the next toy purchase.

cheque from the gov??? LOL, LOL, that is by far the funniest thing you've come up with yet!! you mean check TO
the gov!!

If you were closer, I might consider buying it. But, to far Stupid me, I should of known it had footboards. Yes, it should be stamped. You checked behind the floor board on the left side? Does it look like the frame had been repainted or touched up? I know when I painted my frame, it covered the numbers pretty darn good. I don't think the engine number will give you anything, but, you can give it to a Yamaha dealer and see if he can tell you, what year it is off of.
I'm always looking for the good deals tooSeen a couple the last few days. But, with the purchase of my new shocksHave to wait a bit.
You know, you can always hope for money back. I really don't know how your system up north works. Other then your health care system. But, hey, that's something we don't need to get into
I enjoy wrenching on the quads as long as it's not a complete over-haul. If I have to over-haul, then, it will be for performance. But, usually when you go with performance mods, your reliability starts to diminish

we pay 14.5% tax ON TOP OF every retail purchase (7% fed & 7.5% provincial). our personal income tax is also quite high and increases with your gross earnings. it's the price you pay for all these social programs like healthcare.

I'll see if I can find something stamped on there. I need to post for info on valve specs.

Ouch (I think) we pay 7.325 tax in our county. If you go to San Jose or S.F. you pay like 7.8 plus in taxes. Plus, whatever federal taxes you pay. Like yours, depends on your gross earnings. We don't(majority of us working people) get the social programs like you.

Anyways, post your spec question in the Yamaha thread. I'm sure you will get what your looking for.
Finished BBQ. Should be posting pictures sometime tonight.
