Hey Spectra. Just thought I'd let you know that we took our ATV's (8 of us) through the Rubicon from Loon to the Springs on Saturday, then went backwards through the Rubicon the next day (Sunday). Very tiring.

What was pretty impressive was....My wife did the whole thing on her 700 Twin. She rolled it in the Big Sluice Box...but dove off like Superwoman....and was ok. I dare to say...I don't think very many women have driven an ATV forwards/backwards through the entire Rubicon. In order to do it...she started lifting weights 5 months prior to build up arm and shoulder strength.

You can check out the pictures here.

Photos of 8 ATV's through the Rubicon on May 15 and 16. Still had snow!

Ken, after giving it a lot of thought and checking out as many facts as possible, I've ordered a Cat 650. Should arrive at the dealers right after first of year. For the areas and type of riding I'll be doing, I feel the Cat is the best choice for me. Thanks for your input and help. Jeff.

Jeff.....did you get that Cat yet??

KenHower, I'd like to know how the Rincon performed on that ride through the Rubicon. Great pictures by the way.

Thanks. It did fine. It's has good clearance.....but it definitely got pushed more times...because of the front wheel spinning when 1 tire got in the air. The guy who owns it, also owns the Foreman....He let his brother drive the Rincon....he had to work his *** off with the Foreman...but he said he fun cause it was so light, he could toss his weight around on it more. Thankfully, it was the Foreman that flipped over backwards going up a Granite Step...landed right on him. He curled up in a ball, until we could pull it off. It's one of the first 10-12 pictures I think.

KenHower, thanks for the info. I just bought a Rincon and have only been able to put about 50 miles on it so far. I went from a Rubicon, so the Rincon is going to take a little getting used to as far as the lack of low range/engine braking goes. Good thing it has great brakes I guess...LOL...

This is my first machine with IRS and I'm already spoiled and could probably never go back to a straight axle. The ride is super sweet! What I'd really like to see produced is a Rubicon with IRS and a locking front end. Would be the ultimate machine for my needs!

They actually have kits for your Rincon so you can lock your front differential. That's the only real "defect", for rock crawling. I don't know how much or how difficult....but if you're in Moab, doing the rocks....I'd sure look into it if I owned it. Other than that...it's a good machine. We all have Polaris's, so we make fun of our lone Honda owner....but it's all in jest.

If you go on my video page, look at video #5 and #6, and you'll see real world examples of locking vs. limited slip.

You have a lot of nice riding places out there...enjoy.

IRS on a utility 4 wheeler isn't a good thing if when you say utility you are talking about hauling some trees, deer or trailor. IRS makes it squat and tires go at an angle.
