Default Making Snow plow.

Hello, its summer time now so I though I would make a new snow plow for my Kawi Bayou 300 4X4. Could anyone give me some suggestions. Which plows are better, the ones that mount to the ball or to the botton of the frame. My old plow never had any springs, what type of springs should I get. I was thinking of using push tubes mounted to the bottom of the frame, somehow, I was going to use a hotwater tank shell as the blade. I would like to be able to adjust the angle of the plow somehow. And I would need a figure out some way of lifting the plow up and down. If anyone would like to email me detailed pictures of your home made or factory plow, that would be great.

Default Making Snow plow.

Waylon, My brother and I made a 60" plow for my explorer several years ago. it was frame mounted. I made a permanent bracket that was installed under the bike at the floor boards. The plow arms were lifted up and a 1/2" rod with a lock pin pushed through to mount it under the bike. I used springs from a wrecked car hood. It was a straight blade that could be pivoted @ 30 degrees left, centered, or right by just pushing on a spring returned handle. I made it from 1/8" plate which I had pressed at the welding shop to get a nice curve. Worked real nice and I'll try to get picks to send you this weekend. ( Little brother still making some). I've also seen guys make a frame out of 1-1/2' angle but use a sheet of hard plastic for the skin ( 1/8" or 3/32" thick) screwed on.
Hope this helps
Honcho...
