I dont care how many cc's you have or how much your quad weighs. Eventually it will get stuck and thats why there are companies who make winches. Its the same as these big 4x4 trucks you see out there. they can put all the horsepower into them but EVENTUALLY something will get stuck. If you have rode any quad for a long period of time or trike for that matter you will find what they can do and they cant do. i dont know maybe its just me.

Thats one good thing about having a small quad. If I can't make a mud hole most of the time I can retrieve by myself. If I had a big 4x4 I would without a doubt have a winch.

Ozark; I don't know what kind of mud hole you guys are playing in?? but the one I was in yesterday required another bike & winch to retreve the quads that tried it. It would take 10 men to get a quad out without a winch!!

I wanted to post this thread because i was tired of people saying that " my machine can go anywhere and never gets stuck" Lets just hope that when they get stuck they can winch to a tree, another quad, or something! This leads me to another question. What do you think about rear mounted winches?

Those guys that "never get stuck" are alot of fun to watch. My buddy got an '03 Rubi and thought it was unstoppable. He got in this hole we all told him not to try. It took a 660 Grizz hooked to him with a winch and 2 Honda 300 4x4's hooked to the Grizz to get him out. We all were flingin' mud in every direction. It's a little more conservative on his rideing now.

I think I used my winch three times to one pulling ''i can make it through anything" quads out over myself, although i havent found many mudpits that the Vinson didnt churn through. So, i guess i am a make it through anything guy.
