some KING QUAD question.....!!
#1
well ive had my king quad 300 for over a year now. Im planning on new tires next year, when the stocks are fairly worn. What ive noticed is: the king quad uses a totally unique bolt pattern on its wheels. NOWHERE can I find aftermarket wheels for it. My question is, Has anyone found aftermarket wheels for this quad??...I want to dump the 11" front wheels for 12" so I will have a much larger selection of 25 inch high fronts, then also 26 inch rears. I would prefer aluminum also of course. DENNIS KIRK has no listings for custom wheel sets for the king quad. Kinda disapointing.!! I figure going one inch higher front and rear would not hurt the power too much, but would like aluminum rims to lighten the wheels several pounds. Also..had anyone used spacers on their king quad??....would be nice to have a couple inches more track width to make it more stable. Other wise im happy with it, for what it is. more power would be nice, but....cant have it all....

You've got to be careful changing tire & wheel sizes on a KQ. With a smaller diameter front the gearing to front and rear shafts is set for the stock size and the ratio between them. While you'd probably be OK by going up one inch on both the front and rear, you'd most likely have some slippage when in 4wd. The other issue with the KQ and larger tires is the small engine size and lack of power. The few on these forums that I remember who upsized their tires also made some engine mods to help the power out.
