snow blowers
#6
The blower I saw had the motor mounted in the back with a shaft that ran under the machine. It would work perfect for weight distibution and don't know where I saw it. I would love to make one for this winter but am having a hard time finding the thrower big enough.
Thanks

I had a fertilizer hooked up to my fourhweeler before. Man I'd like to have a snowblower on my ATV

I also answered this one on the polaris forum. Polaris had one in their '02 accessory catalog (didn't see it in the '03 or '04 catalogs). It was 13hp and had asuggested retail of $2,999.99 The motor was off the back and the blower off the front, with the drive shaft connecting the two underneath.

Does that thing ever bog down?
Just like any snowblower, if you drive it into heavy wet snow real fast and don't give it time to blow, you can bog her down, But, it takes alot....
is it electric start?
No, mine isn't., but even in -40* celsius weather (storms), put choke on and 2 pulls max will get her going.
how does it mount to the atv?
I bought the actual attachment for my bike., I can't remember the dimensions exactly (since I installed it about 6 or 7 years ago) but there is a frame made of @ 3/4" square tubing about 15" long which line up with the frame rails and are u-bolted to the frame. There is a 1/2" round stock at each end to secure the 3/4" frame, The back round stock sticks out a few inches each side and that is what the blower attachs to under the foot boards. The front is secured withchains which are crossed and secured to the front of the bike. it takes about 10 - 15 minutes to mount and or remove. I normally put it on around december 1 and its stays on until may 1.
how much money was it?
I bought her back about 6 - 7 years ago and I think with the 4 chains and the winch it was around $3000.00 Canadian (@ $1800 US)
Coyotechaser :
Does the quad push the blower or does the blower pull the quad?
The quad pushes the blower.
If you guys want, I can take pics next week of the blower not on the bike as well as the frame under the bike. let me know and I'LL put them in my pics.
