I am currently looking at purchasing a new ATV. Right now I have a Suzuki Ozark and I would like a 400cc utility quad. I am looking at the Kodiak 400 2x4. I don't want 4wd but I am open to suggestions for any other type of ATV I am looking for. Thanks

 

take a look at the suzuki eiger its 400cc and you can get it in 2x4 or in&out 4x4. you can also go auto or 5spd manual so you have alot of options. in the 400 class you will get the most for your money with the eiger. i have an 03 4x4 manual and so far had no problems with it. good luck with your decesion.

 

u need to get in the sport world, honda 400ex or suzuki z-400 will do you good.

I just bought a 2002 400 4x4 Scrambler and I am loving it!!!
Best of both worlds if you ask me.

 

Here what I would get :
Yamaha : Big Bear 2x4 & 4x4 ( manual 5-speed ), Kodiak 400 or 450 2x4 & 4x4 ( Automatic )
Honda : Rancher 400 AT 2x4 & 4x4 ( can get it with GPS too !! ) ( Automatic )

If you decide on a Kodiak, get the 450. I have nothing but good things about the eiger. It would probably be a better choice in a 400 than the Kodiak 400. I like the old 400s but not the new ones. The reasons being: They took away the low range AND raised the gear ratio.... not good, not good at all.

 

get a kodiak, its pretty much all yamaha pride talking, but a kodiak is the way to go, a 450 if your buying new

 

I own a 02 Eiger 400 4x4 5spd and its been a great quad. Very fun to ride and you will not the beat the price. The Kodiak 450s are also nice machines.

Yeah, I looked at the outlander on paper. It looked good. Then I physically saw it. The plastic looks awful. I think its the ugliest quad out there. I know they go like a hot damn, but they gotta change the plastic! Iunno, maybe i just dont like change.
