first snow ride with fourtrax 300
#1
first snow of the season today in maryland!!!!! i love snow riding....but the fourtax didnt do too well.....i kept gettin stuck with the tires spinning..well of course u have to expect that in snow riding...but this was bad........i couldnt barley do anything....the reason was prolly caus i only wight like 98lbs so the wight couldnt get traction.....i might put a couple sandbags on the back rack to give it more weight. my neighbors snoblower had this rack with the whole lotta weights on it, works awesome. dont have the money right now for new tires....caus mine are kinda worn anyway.

New tires and some weight might be a good idea . I'm assuming that it's a 2x4. My Recon used to go great in the snow. I would sit back towards the rack while going through the tougher areas. If you can't go straight in the snow then go around in circles. Donuts are great fun in the snow. Just be careful you don't catch a root, rock or something while going around.

Tires make all the difference. Even with the front diff locked my King Quad with stock rubber was nearly useless in snow over 7 or 8 inches deep. I just put on Mud Lites with the deep tread 26 inchers on the back and it's a whole different story now. It chugged right through the snow last time I tried it and backed up just fine too. I didn't even lock the front end. It's a lot of work for the quad and you won't be going fifty miles an hour through it with a 300 but it'll go with good mud tires. Your light weight should be an advantage because unlike mud in snow you arent trying to shove the tires down to the hard stuff, you're just trying to get through it.
