Default Carlisle Badlands XTR Radials VS. ITP Holeshot ATR?

Decisions decisions, What do you guys think?

Carlisle Badlands XTR Radials (or) ITP Holeshot ATR's? for my P700?

I will probably mount them on OEM rims to keep the weight down. The OEM's aren't great, but they are lighter than anything else I can find - even aluminum C-Series, or Douglas. Plus I don't want a non-OEM offset. Can't afford my quad to be any wider than it already is.

As far as riding > mostly trails with hardpack, rocks, sand, and light mud / water. Snow 4-6" deep in the winter months. I run a 54" plow in the winter.

I can't argue with ITP's success and experience. On the other hand, I think Carlisle owns ITP??

The Badlands XTR's are much lighter than the ATR's, and I like the tread design better...

totals - 8 lb less for Fronts
- 6 lb less for Rears

Front 205/80R12 15# $50.35

Rear 255/65R12 20# $53.73

I was looking on the Calisle web page and found out that the front tire is only 4 ply rated. The rear tire is 6 ply. The ITP ATR's are 6 ply all around. That may be the reason the Carlisle's are lighter. My friend has the Carlisle's on his new AC400, and they seem to ride nice, but I can see puncturing the 4 ply if he does any rock climbing.

Senater - You are correct about the 4-Ply Fronts. Never noticed that before, thanks for pointing it out!

The rears are 6 ply though as you mentioned, and still offer a total x2 combined weight savings of 6 pounds verses the ITP ATR's. (19.7 lb each tire for the Badlands XTR's).

What's the opinion on 4 Ply Carlisle fronts? Should I get the ITP ATR's because they have 6 Ply??
