I have a 03 foreman s with 800 miles on it. A few days ago it started to act up. I falls on its face. And in that i mean loses all power. And then backfires a little bit. It is acting like its not geting gas. So i think its a carb problem. I'm not real good with motors yet and my dealer is miles away. Any thing i could do to try and get it back up to par without much tearing apart?

you could be having problems with water in fuel, add a little gasline deicer and run it for a bit to get it into the system. its worth a try,as you are probably getting some cold weather and the condensation in the tank could be clogging ( from ice or water) in a line or carb.

Another method that works is to let the bike sit over night, switch to reserve, and then open the drain screw on the bottom of the carb. This will help with two problems. Sometimes, if there is foreign debri in the mainjet.. it can come loose and come out the drain. Second, if there is water, the water settles to both the bottom of the tank and the bottom of the bowl... it will be the first thing to come out. Catch whatever comes out into a cup or bowl and look at it. If you see little ***** collected together, it is water in the gas. If you see anything chunky, likely it was eventually gonna plug up a jet. If all looks good, you have only lost time thus far and your problem may still exist.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
