I've had two of the Warns and have had trouble with both of them. First I had the 2000, and now have the 2500. There is a Mickey Mouse clip that holds the spring which moves the shaft back and forth to engage and disengage the spool. It will slide back on the shaft and the winch won't engage, and always at the most inopportune time. Mine left me on the side of a mountain in a rainstorm one time with all my buddies laughing as I wrapped my winch cable around my bumper. You couldn't give me another Warn, Go with the Ramsey!

I havent really used my Superwinch much other than the 3 snowfalls we've had but Im pleased with its performance so far. Also if ur seeking one w/ minimal draw Im pretty sure it beats both Ramsey and Warn in that category, also has a more powerful motor.

 

Here's another vote for Warn. I've got the 2.5ci on my Kodiak and it pulls great. If you can afford it, go w/ the 3.0ci winch, prolly the best on the market.

 

rockymountain sells a tusk winch for around 120 or so and they have a lifetime waruntee
