Default Belt drive question

No auto trannie can be push started. That's where a pull/decompression chamber to start itcomes in handy. What does one do with the 700 polaris that doesn't have a pull cord?

Default Belt drive question

I think I have to clear up a few things.

1) The clutch and belt issue is not an issue at all, as long as u keep the clutches properly cleaned and adjusted the belt should last u a long time. My ole man owns a sportsman 500ho and he has over 2000miles on the atv and the belt is still good to go, the reason u have to use low range BELOW 5MPH is because in this rpm range the clutch is just engageing and there is some slipping of the clutch IF u are in high(higher gear ratio). U are basicly using the atv right at the point of engagement and low would have to be used to keep from burning up a belt, other than that the belt drive system is very effictive and I would deffinately buy a polaris.

2) The ebs is excellent but it only works on the 2 back tires(due to 4wd system) other than that in high it slows u down the same as if u drag the brakes just a small bit, and in low it WILL stop u. To prove this myself and a friend were rideing skidder trails and comeing down a very steep hill with 2 of us on I have to give it gas so I wouldent stop.

In my opinion the sportsman is an excellent atv and I would deffinately own one, the only real problem I can see with the sportsman line up is that they are to heavy(100lbs heaver then competition)

PS: I regulary ride this atv and I ride it HARD, everything from powersliding to blasting down woods roads at 60mph to mud and snow and I keep it pined pretty much all the time and I love it.
