Yep,....and the common thread here? tain't nobody chiming in from California on what a great rate they have!
With out a doubt, when it comes to insurance, and many "other" things, Californee suck-diddly-ucks! I'm picking up a 500HO on Saturday, could you imagine insuring a 400 and a 500 for about $1800 a year?

TreeDoc, All I can suggest is "MOVE". I was supprised how little it was to insure my Kodiak as I tried to get insurance on my King Quad 9 years ago and was quoted 540 from the same company I am with now and I was with them then. Another 500 huh? I am afraid to let my wife ride mine as she will not want to ride her Timberwolf anymore. Of course that would mean another one for me and I am leaning towards the Rhino now. Might be the next big quad purchase for me.AlaskaBoy.

Cool Pic, AlaskaBoy! I need to come up there and do a trip in a floatplane. I was actually thinking of getting my Seaplane rating, it's not a terribly long or hard process if you have a place to do it. A good friend of mine who owns a local gunshop here in town used to live in Valdez (worked for the City of Valdez and took early retirement) and he had a SuperCub that he had a set of floats on for a while. I have heard a lot of stories about flying up there and I would love to experience that someday in the not so distant future.

BTW....that's a pretty suave looking Kodiak you have there. Nice wheels!!!

Oh...BTW, I received my Ram-Mount for my GPS V and I bought the Ram Spotlight like you have. I haven't had an opportunity to play with the light at night time and my 400 is at the dealer due to a winch wiring bug. Is it pretty bright? Is it a spot type or a flood? I guess I could go poke it into my powerport on the SCrew and see but shoooot....that would be just way to easy, huh?

Treedoc,

The spotlight is a spot beam type. I use it as a third headlight, it reaches out pretty good. I used it this last hunting season when we shot a moose just before dark and we used it to skin and gut the moose out. We had flashlights and headlamps and they were no match for the spotlight. I thought about getting my pilots liscence a few years back and then kids came along and I never got around to it. So I just have to pay to fly, its cheaper then owning a plane if I don't use it all the time. AlaskaBoy.

$45K for a half ton? It better have solid gold wheels, hot and cold running water, and a couple of nymphos thrown in for that. My loaded '03 F350 Lariat CrewCab FX4 with the 7.3PSD and the aftermarket options I added (exhaust, gauges, intake mods, SCMT, Pullrite 5th wheel hitch, brake controler, Line-X bedliner, Undercover bed cover,) wasn't much more.

Oh geeeez! Not that again!

This thread has proven most unproductive for this poor sole in California. I was really hoping someone here in California was going to pop in a give me some great news on a place to go for reasonable insurance. I didn't think I was going to have to discuss how much I paid for my pickem up truck!

So be it, though. I'm off to the dunes for an evening ride with the wife. Just brought home a 500HO Sportsman yesterday and it's begging for a break in! Oh BTW....I paid $60,000 for the new quad!

BTW...I'm unsubscribed now!
